A train station in Shanghai stood empty on Wednesday amid fears over the ongoing outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.

Although the Lunar New Year holiday is over for most of the country, even after the state extended the holiday until Monday, February 3 in an attempt to contain the spread of coronavirus, many provinces and cities have decided to extend that break until February 9, including Shanghai.

The death toll in China has risen to 490, according to the authorities. A total of 24,324 people have been infected.
