Thousands of people took Shanghai’s parks and other public spaces on Sunday to celebrate a traditional Chinese festival, the Qingming, and enjoy good spring weather as the government eases COVID-19 restrictions across the country.

Footage filmed on Sunday shows people setting up tents, having picnics and enjoying outdoor activities in the West Bund Park, next to the Long Museum.

Life is coming back to normal after prolonged shutdowns, as China continues to report a lower number of new coronavirus cases.

The Hubei province, which once was the epicentre of the virus, has not reported any new cases on Sunday.
